Project Snapshot

This project for the Tweed Shire Council’s new $9.2 million Animal Management Facility in South Murwillumbah is a prime example of how specialist coatings play a critical role in large-scale community infrastructure. Replacing a flood-prone site, this purpose-built centre was designed to meet modern animal welfare standards, and our team was engaged to deliver a comprehensive internal and external painting and protective coating package.

The Challenge: Hygiene, Durability, and Scale

In a facility of this nature, the coatings are more than just aesthetic; they are a functional requirement for health and safety. The kennel environments face constant exposure to high-pressure cleaning, chemical disinfectants, and physical wear.

The project required:

  • Hygienic Integrity: Non-porous surfaces to prevent bacteria buildup.

  • Extreme Durability: Internal coatings that won't peel or degrade under heavy-duty maintenance.

  • Precision Wayfinding: Clear, professional line marking for public and service zones to ensure safe traffic flow.

The Solution: The Detailed Standard in Practice

We approached this new construction project with a focus on precision and the selection of industrial-grade products tailored for the specific environment.

  • Epoxy Coatings (Kennel Walls): We applied specialist high-build epoxy coatings to the kennel walls. This creates a seamless, glass-like finish that is impervious to moisture—essential for maintaining a sterile environment in animal housing.

  • Internal & External Painting: Using premium-grade commercial finishes, we handled the complete painting of the administrative hub, veterinary care areas, and the external facade.

  • Precision Line Marking: To complete the site, our team executed the line marking for the facility’s carpark and service zones, providing clear, long-lasting wayfinding that meets Australian safety standards.

The Result: A State-of-the-Art Community Asset

The finished facility is a state-of-the-art hub that will serve the Tweed region for decades to come. By applying the "Detailed Standard" to every square metre - from the chemical-resistant epoxy in the dog runs to the precision of the car park lines - we ensured the facility is as easy to maintain as it is professional to look at.

This project highlights our capability to deliver multi-disciplinary services - painting, coatings, and line marking - on high-value, government-funded infrastructure.
